Since 2010, I have been training under Jason Matherley and with many other esteemed black belts from the Team Shawn Hammonds Association. In January 2023, I was honored to receive my brown belt from Professor Jason Matherley.
I began my jiu-jitsu journey in Tennessee with the Team Shawn Hammonds Association before relocating back to Ohio. My professional background in biomechanics has provided me with a technical and effective approach to jiu-jitsu, which I incorporate into my teaching. I take great pride in our students' achievements, whether in competition or in self-defense situations.
I remain an active competitor because I believe in leading by example, and I feel that staying engaged in competition helps to ensure that our curriculum remains dynamic and effective. My passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the camaraderie within our BJJ family is a constant source of inspiration and gratitude. I feel incredibly blessed to be on this journey and to share it with such a remarkable community.

My journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began in September 2021 with a Women’s Only class, sparking a deep passion for that has since become a central part of my life. I’ve fully immersed myself in the sport, attending as many classes as possible, cross-training, and competing at various events across the country. As an active competitor, I’ve had the privilege of testing my skills on some of the biggest stages in the sport, including the IBJJF PanAms and Master’s Worlds.
Along with competing, I also lead our Women’s Only classes, where I work to create a supportive and empowering space for women in jiu-jitsu. I teach the fundamentals classes, helping newcomers get a solid start and build their skills. Plus, I get to teach the kids’ classes, where it’s incredibly rewarding to introduce them to jiu-jitsu and see them grow both on and off the mats.
